The Glass Dilator was designed after working with a GRS surgeon but they are also used for women with dyspareunia (pain intercourse), pelvic floor issues, post radiation and chemo issues, and for trauma healing. The tip is slightly elongated to aid both insertion and comfort. All designs are 8" in length but you may request a longer or shorter version if needed.

The depth markers are very flat but easily felt with your fingertips. They were designed to be both flat and very smooth so that during dilation you will not incur bleeding due to the markers as compared to several other designs on the market. The markers will be placed at approximately 4.75" (120mm) and 5.25" (132mm) but this can vary a little. When you receive your dilator please measure the distance yourself so you know exactly how far to insert.

* * * INSERTION TIP - You Will Be Able To Do This with Your Eyes Closed * * *

Place the Glass Dilator in your hand with palm up with the tip towards you and the depth markers facing up. Slide your thumb until the side of it just touches the first depth marker. Next, as you insert the dilator keep your thumb in place until you first contact yourself. This should tell you that you have inserted about 1" less then the first marker, as this is the average width of your thumb.

As you continue to insert, your thumb will feel the depth marker under it so as the first on passes under your thumb you will be at 4.75" and your thumb will be in between the two markers. Finally, as the second marker passes under your thumb you've reached the 5.25" depth approximately. Remember to measure the exact location of the depth markers on your dilator as they may vary slightly from piece to piece.
